Timestamps for transcripts, show notes and YouTube
Transcripts and show notes use many styles: [00:01:05], (1:05), 00:01:05.250.
Paste any text: every timestamp in it is rewritten in the style you choose, and the words around it are left alone.
Add or take away seconds to line a transcript up with an edited recording.
YouTube chapter rules
- The first chapter starts at 0:00.
- At least three chapters, in order.
- Each at least 10 seconds long.
- Paste them into the video's description.
The CadreScripts editor makes chapters for you from the transcript, with titles, a summary and show notes (Episode tab).
Questions
How do I add chapters to a YouTube video?
Write one line per chapter in the description: the start time, then the title. The first must be 0:00, there must be at least three, and each must be at least 10 seconds long. The YouTube chapters tab here formats a list for you.
Can I shift every timestamp in a transcript?
Yes. Paste the transcript, type the seconds to add (or a negative number to take away) and copy the result. Only the timestamps change.
How do I convert seconds to hours, minutes and seconds?
Use the Seconds ⇄ time tab: type seconds on one side and read the time on the other, or the reverse.
